drivers side j tube thingy

right just got in.... skinned knuckles missed dubfreeze but beer is helping
the j tube style thing on the drivers side of the bus had cracked last summer and as we are planning a lot of camping trips this year i thought it a good idea to fix/replace.
think vw must have had a lot of bits and pieces left over to come up with the exhaust system on an 84 watercooled, and it didnt help that the thing hasent been apart in years.
trouble is i have no studs on the right hand side!! only bolts, left hand side has just two on cylynder 3..... is this normal.
have lots of studs in the shed from other aircoolled projects should i fit these? or is there a reason, fitting sequence?
also if anyone has an drivers side j tube thing with warm air connection going cheep let me know
cheers guys
