Just brought the old girl out of winter hibernation and noticed a lot of oil on the off side heat exchanger, ive been told this is the push rod tube?
Is this serious and is it easy to sort out?

Are you talking 2.0ltr AC here, if so they are realy easy to do, rocker cover off, undo two nuts that hold rocker gear, take out pushrods, then pull out the tubes, replace with new seal, both large and small ends and replace, a little general purpose grease will aid fitting the tubes back then just fit everything back in the same place and in reverse order.
Tip: make sure you fit the spring clip back correctly, it stops the tubes from moving and leaking, long prongs go under each pushrod and clips into the rocker blocks where they are split.

Hi, are you talking aout telescopic tubes here, if not, is it not a head off job. Or are they different from watercooled?

They used to sell expanding ones for the CT and water boxer but I can't get them. It's heads off.

Yeah, head off for these I'm affraid! It may just be an idea before you start to check the rocker cover seal first as oil from the pushrod tubes tends to run along to the engine and not drip down onto the heat exchangers. May save you some time if they have gone and not the tubes!
