the most expensive site in Britain.
Prices are for pitch + 2 persons
SEASON - PEAK
FEES* - £42
AWNING - £3
EXTRA ADULT - £7
EXTRA CHILD (2-14yrs) - £4
Have you ever seen anywhere more expensive? I just had to share this as I can't belieeeeeve it

You are right. I just looked at it because it seemed to be the nearest to Bamburgh that was on the coast (looking at the UKcampsite map thingy). What a shocker. £42!!

Lots of sites like this with golf courses, gyms, pools, jacussi, bar, games room, slot machines etc (anything to relieve you of your hard earned). You are charged for the 'facilities' which are a fat lot of use if you just want to park up for the night. This sort of site is a camping version of 'Butlins'. I drive on if I come across one.

I just sent them this email...
Your prices are "pooh"...way overpriced...and im now quite happy to drive straight past!
BTW, are you related to Dick Turpin? he was a thief too...
i think everyone should send them a email....complaining at the prices...then maybe places like this would lower them

Have you found anywhere to stay yet? If you are happy to do a bit of wildcamping, there are places on the coast near Bamburgh Castle where you can park overnight for free (I think we have a photo from one in our Garage section on here). Some Northumberland sites are mentioned in this thread as well:

Thanks for the tips Bernard and N&T. They look good. Like your pic with Bamburgh in the background.
I didn't mean to start a storm in a tea cup emailing campaign when I started this thread

I'm just back from East Ord, which is only 1 1/2 miles away from Berwick and comes highly recommended from me.
Price is for one unit, one car and up to four people: £24.00 High season.
