i have just been trying to fit a standerd carb to the camper its a 2e3 to a 1.9 dg engine but the 2e3 has more wires off it then the weber did. the weber had one switched ignition live to the fuel cut off. the 2e3 has got a wire from the cut off a wire from the choke and then another one off the front as well. i am guessing that they are all just switched ignition lives from over by the coil. is this right? if not can someone shed any light on it for me?
thanks dave

daniNdave,

My engine is injected, so no first hand knowledge, but Mr Haynes' schematic electrical for the 1.9 carburettor shows,

1. One black wire direct from 15 on the coil to the 'By-pass air shut-off valve'

2. A red wire from the 'inlet manifold pre-heating relay' to T1 in the engine compartment junction box and then (colour not shown) to....

3. N51 'heating element for inlet manifold preheating', and....

4. black to T1e and N1 'automatic choke' and then....

5. black to T1f and N52 'Heater Element for throttle channel heating / carburettor.

Looks like the latter is the extra on your carb.

Hope this may help until someone more knowledgable comes along.

Mike
