Hi

I've just had my Propex fitted by Gasure and Im planning of tapping it into the heat system in the future...
This will allow me to replace the exhaust system and I was wondering what stainless steel options are available for a T25 Aircooled?

I contacted JP and they said they dont do anything for the T25 Aircooled I was interested in them for the lifetime warranty

I was wondering if any other Aircooled drivers have a SS exhaust system and what my best choice.

I looked at this but it seems to be silencer & tail pipe only
Im looking for a whole exhaust system that can be fitted which will omit the exchangers & heater pods etc
Im going to plumb the propex into the vans heating system (at the front) using some sort of switchable Y connector so i can heat the front & demist while driving and then heat the rear while camping.

well that the theory.........

for something a bit like WOW look up turbo thomas' number, my brother in law just got a performance system for his bay, sure it was about £80

im not after anything fancy just a good solid exhaust system (lifetime guarantee would be good)

Ive been doing some ringing around

JP exhausts dont offer an SS exhaust for a 2L Aircooled - I was hoping for a lifetime gaurantee

LA performance were very helpful, I spoke with Lee they can offer J tubes for £165 a pair - (but only in mild steel) and any SS back box for £325

Richard @ turbo thomas was very helpful and can do SS J tubes & a 'close as possible to stock' SS back box for just over £500 I told him I'm LPG'd and he has never done for an LPG'd T25 but said it should not be a problem

Called bluebird a few times but its always been engaged. From looking at their site they only seem to offer the back box - does anyone know any different????

anyway if anyone else has any ideas for places to try or any views on what I have found please post

At the moment Im leaning towards turbo thomas

Turbo thomas... good guy and stands by his stuff.. he will also fab it how you want it..

there isnt anything else..
Mild steel will rot pretty quick... unless you have then really well ceramic coated.. halfords heat paint wont last more than a year...

or just use quality heat exchangers.. they last a long tine...

have spoken with TT and I agree there is no one else, also he sound like a decent chap

How long you going to keep the van??

the oe heat exchangers last a long time...

Im planning on keeping it till it falls apart
my exchangers will need updating so i thought j tubes would be a better long term option....
also I had a propex installed from Steve @ Gasure so I was thinking of plumbing this into the heating system with Steve's help

What do reckon?

Think its down to cost of parts and if they are real good quality..
stainless isnt totally rust free.. and does work harden so can crack, but can be welded again.. and prob easy to replace..

Ask Cumbriankeith about it, hes run an aicooled for a long time...
