HELP!!!!!
I took six tight bolts off a washing machine for someone. He said they were tight and would probably snap out. They did  !!! Then I found out why. They were a left hand thread!!!
Anyway, I cannot get any.
They are M8x18 left hand thread. (Probably high tensile steel). I need six of the bleeders. Anyone know where I can get some. They are out of stock at the usual spares places (espares etc) and cost about £5 each anyway
Any help much appreciated,
Thanks
Keith

Your best bet may be a Ships Chandlers.
Some a LH and SS to boot.

Didn't they have the notch out of the head ?

Not sure M8 x 1.25 x 18mm is standard anyway, it's usually 16mm long.

I've put 'feelers' out and will get back to you

Out of a washing machine, highly corroded and they go into ally so no I didn't notice after first one
Also he told me they would all snap anyway 'cos they always have when he's done it before. Now we know why  .
Not enough metal to drill any bigger!

Ian Hulley, thanks I'd appreciate that!

Phredd, I'll do a Google, thanks.

go down the local tip see if you can find one off the same make of machine.. I did this a few times for several machines I was asked to repair.. even picked up a new belt... (yeah I know.. really cheap that!!! but why waste it)

Yeah, thought of the tip idea but, would you believe, they don't let you get parts due to health and safety laws!
however, I know someone "who knows someone" at the tip so that is being investigated.
I've also complained to Indesit about cost and non availability. Who knows?
thanks for taking the trouble to reply.
