Hiya Everyone!

Is there any alternative wiring diagrams available other than the ones supplied in the haynes manual?

Having great trouble trying to trace wiring to my temp gauge via the 14 pin connector for the dash.

Also i seem to have 2 sender units around the thermostat housing one pointing towards the front of the van and the other pointing to the nearside of the van, which seems to be linked to a relay in a black cover in engine bay, which sender does what?

BTW it is a 19 DG engine if this helps

Many thanks in advance Mark 4088

Mark ,It is good to find you have discovered that the Haynes manual is the sort of book you can read while sat on the 'schitter', then when you have finished simply wipe you asre on your chosen page.

Most of the time the Haynes will not show you the part you are having difficulty with, it is almost as if the blokes doing the photos and the text suddenly decide that bit you want to know about isn't important.

Your best bet is find someone with/or is selling a (US Vanagon)= T25, Robert Bentley manual as this type of thing is your best source of information, provided you don't want to know anything about carburettors.....

There are two senders in the thermostat unit.
One is for the temp gage on the dash.
I think the other controls the carb preheater. (on the 2.1 it feeds the engine management system)
I cant remember which is which.

Mark,
As no one else has offered to answer 'How to undo sender'

I think that they are held in with a wire clip. Obviously you want a cold engine and no pressure in the coolant system, and I should have a new sender with new 'O' ring (s?) and clip ready to pop right in to reduce coolant loss. May need to bleed system if a lot is lost.

I may have remembered this incorrectly, someone will be quick to correct me if I have. Should be clear once you take a look.
