Got a replacement seal for my windscreen. Rang up someone who fits them and they were happy to fit it however warned me T25's are a very tight fit and that there is a high chance they might break the windscreen when fitting it if there is any cracks in the screen. I have a pin head size crack in the screen.

Does anybody know if this is a common problem, or whether this fitter just isn't to hot at fitting T25 screens. Would having the crack repaired lessen the chance of breakage? And does £40 sound a fair price????

Fitting a t25 screen is easy for a fitter.. I'm told it's not a tight fit just "normal" as for the crack, well I'm not sure but the MOT has a say in that...where's the crack?

A t25 screen is no more difficult than any other non bonded screen to
fit.A small crack can be a problem when fitting.The crack is only an MOT
failure if it is in a certain area in front of the driver.
The biggest problem with a t25 windscreen is they are prone to leaking
between the rubber and (body) frame.They should always be sealed on fitment before water gets in.
If it is not and leaks the screen needs to be removed all moisture dried
out and then refitted with a sealent(not silacon)

Did one myself recentely and it was a doddle, also had one done on the insurance due to a crack, paid an extra £15 and had a tinted with top tint.

I had a new screen fitted before christmas.

First fitter came out put in new screen and put a spectacular array of fractures in it down the middle.

next day different fitter came and it was right first time.

Therefore some experience I think is needed to avoid a cracked screen.

I'm looking at replacing my screen/seal when the weather improves.
Is there a correct type of sealant that should be used? Any product names?
