Has it stuck before or you had any other probs with box?
I ask because I have a simmilar prob with mine, The box is ok but the linkage is not set up right due partly to some worn bits, If I come to a stop with it in 5th it would often refuse to come out, I had to set off with clutch slip and when moving it would come out.
It has now decided to come out of 5th nearly everytime but wont change down to 4th instead I have to go 5th to 3rd(without taking my foot of the clutch) and it then goes straight into 4th.
Changing up as normal all gears ok, If I'm rolling along (20ish) and go from 5th to neutral and feel for 4th some times you do and others its 2nd,
So linkage overhaul coming up.
I paked up to a kerb overlooking the Nth bay at brid and I rolled in with my foot on the clutch, , yep I was stuck there, had to rock it back and forth up the kerb and along the prom!

Our problems are all the same as metalmick8y to the letter except we were stuck at the slip road off of a motorway. Acting on this information I discovered that the gear guides under the gear stick in the box thingy are well worn (only half there on one) and all the bushes are really worn also and everything is dry. we rocked her back and forth and she popped right out of gear so am now going to overhall the gear linkage to start with.
A big thanks to everyone that replied to our post we have gained a lot of info. CHEERS Mark And Pauline
