Dash problem ???????

Hi can anyone help? I'm currently converting an '89 panelvan and i need to get a dash for it. I don't know what should be in there(other than a speedo, petrol and temp guage) 
, but it's a british mkt, Rhd 1.9 petrol. If i can upgrade to a clock, tacho etc, all the better 
. I've been told it depends on how the wiring connects to the printed circuit(horizontal or vertical), but 'cos i aint got the dash i don't know
