Indicator flashing problem

Have just got my van back from a re spray. I notice when I turn on left indicator it flashes at double the rate on the dash and on the actual rear indicator (the front left indicator doesn't work at all). The right indicator is ok.
Maybe my respray bloke disturbed something when he was prepping the van. Any one any ideas?

as big tam put the relay that controls the indicators relies on the amp draw of the bulbs to opperate at the correct speed so when one bulb is blown etc it flashes faster! one way to prove it isnt the relay put the 4 way flashers on they should work correct speed even if a bulb has gone!

Make sure the guy reconnected the plug onto the indicator bulb fitting when refitting the indicators... mine came back with this problem after re-spray!

Well, I'd like to say it was a highly complex electrical problem! But after checking everything in the area it turned out to be a faulty lamp
