My van won't start on petrol anymore...

As i said in the title - it runs fine on LPG - takes a bit of turning over to get it running on gas but once its going no problems. However i ran out of gas coming back from Cornwall last summer - pulled into Cribbs Asda and put £20 of petrol in (they had ran out of lpg). Tried to start the van and nothing doing - since then i have just run it on gas. Are there any tests i can do to see if its the fuel pump or a blockage or a fault with the lpg/petrol switching.
Since Mocki fitted the lpg system for me about 2 yrs ago i have run it only on gas - has this caused a problem??? Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks. :(

It can take some time for the petrol to pump through. You have been running on petrol occasionally though haven't you ? Otherwise it could be a buggered pump or spiders in the filter or .... well anything.

You can test the pump by taking the fuel pipe off at the 'Inlet' to the carb and put it in a jar or similar, disconnect the coil lead and carefully turn the engine over, no fuel = no pump or blocked filter.

I have run it just on gas for almost 2 years ...oops.
Even though i turn it over on petrol for ages theres no attempt at ignition.I will try the pump test to see if thats the fault - anyone know where to get a fuel pump , how much they are ,and who's the cheapest???

sounds like the petrol solenoid is either stuck or a wire is off ,

long time no speak!
first test is to see if the petrol is being switched over, the petrol solenoid is on the front wall of the engine bay, with the control switch, switched to petrol if you switch the ignition on , so the red lights are illuminated, and connect and unconnect the blue wire from the connection on the top of the petrol solenoid you should hear and feel the plunger move.....

please feel free to give me a ringif you need , its much easier that tryping all this over three days!!

Update on my problem...
Tested the solenoid - result - it is working - it clicks and activates ok.
Checked the inline fuel filter 0 it is clean and petrol flows out the other side.
Checked what i can with the fuel pump -disconnected the outlet pipe and cranked the engine - result - no petrol is pumped out of the pipe.

I guess from this i can deduct the fuel pump is faulty/broken.

Has anyone got a spare working fuel pump for sale (the same as this one http://shop.justkampers.com/product_inf ... ts_id/9194 )

Thanks for the help so far...
