advice on engine

hi all and happy new year....
just looking for a bit of advice, my JX engine is shot!! timing out and cam belt jumped throwing a valve through the cylinder head and bang!! and the turbo is leaking oil so its all all doom and gloom for the start of 08
the VW van centre who diagnosed the problem are calling me on monday with a price for a new/recon like for like repair etc which i think will be a little steep but it will be VW stamped etc.....
On the plus side I now have the chance to drop a different engine in....I like the sound of a 1.9 tdi seems that looking at different forums it is a conversion that is fairly simple for a specialist mechanic, I cant do it myself...time and lacking in the skill department
I need a nudge in the right direction, doner enigines which year....and a local specialist....i live in telford and any help would be magic!!!!!
