my starter turns slowly sometimes and worse when cold. Iwas advised was bad earth. Cleaned it all up got a bit better but still iffy. Was wondering where the original engine earthstrap is and where best to place new one. Will this make it any better???

I had the same problem about a year ago. Syncronutz in Shotts make their own, good quality and no problems since it was installed.

I think Mr Tickle's on about the braided earth strap at the nose mount of the gearbox, it goes from the side of the steel nose support frame to the body. If this isn't good then it appears that the starter's knackered.
