ok, this one has us beat....

We had lazy starting on the van 2.1 lpg elite recon.

did the earths...made a huge difference. This morning oafter light frost last night. Started, then stopped. Went to restart. Nothing. Extremely sluggish as if battery completely flat. Took other van

Hubby got home from work, turned key, and away it went, first turn.

So what do we look at next. If it was battery, surely it wouldn't work in the afternoon?

struggling to understand why it will start first time, then refuse pint blank to start? (has done this with another battery as well) :?:

any clues anyone?

Thanks

Emma

Not really an answer but the temperature affects battery performance a lot.
A cold battery will struggle to provide the cranking current needed to start an engine.

It is quite common for a cold battery in poor health to be able to give an initial surge, then die.

useless information.... During the 2nd world war submariners would warm the batteries in torpedoes to increase the range.......end useless information.

Tony - thanks for that and the useless information!!!!

Is it right that if the battery was in porr health, it will recover slightly as the day warms up...enough to start it again?

Perhaps we should "bring in the battery" tonight?
