While out on "Syncro Saturday" we re-attempted a hill that 2 petrols failed at the last outing.
Well, just to prove Diesels are ten hundred thousand times better, every Diesel that attempted said slippery, shaley, wet soggy bomb hole got to the top, just to put another nail in the WBX coffin, a 2WD syncro made it up there also!
Just to add insult to injury Mr Simpson put his up backwrds.
petrols suck.

Why would that be?
G-gear is the same ratio as reverse, weight distribution is near 50/50 and on top of it all front wheels only get full power when the rear ones slip
(or is that the answer ...rear wheels slip sooner when going up backwards, transferring more power to the fronts (which are now tghe main driving wheels) so you really get constant 4WD an not on/off ??)

Now look here Mr. Baxter - I've just spent the last few weeks berating school children for using 'gay' as an insult...
We've had gay pens, pencils, desks, chairs, songs, mobile phones....
If you want to insult things, do it properly. Subject line should read something like: 'Wasserboxers are bays'

I usually end up doing/going places with mine (lowly 1.9 wbx) that the French lot (mainly TD's/TDi's) make hard work of... ie lots more revs, stalls and failed attempts.....
Er.. how many if the TD's were modded? (1.9? TDi?) even if it was just the boost turned up?
Not that I am saying WBX are better than dweezils, just saying that they both have advantages...
I wonder where that comment someone made about the "club" being anti wbx came from!!!!!!!!.....
In any case we dont use "gay"... we now say things are a bit/very "Liberace"

Yours was one of the ones that made it look hard and didn't make it!
a 75 hp AAZ is still less than a 112hp 2.1 or a 78hp 1.9!
Just face it, WBX however much you like them aren't really that good in the grand scheme of things.

Err... I didnt have any diff locks.... and it wasnt a "power" problem it was traction.... but of course that doesnt matter when you have a lump of pig iron in the back..........
it seems.....
Oh and I dont remember any dweezil attempting it that weekend.... Just Kev and me even tyhough we knew it was a vain attempt without lockers!!!
