auxillary water pump

Evening all, i have to replace the electric water pump fitted to my van [it blew apart causing no end of engine problems],what do you reccomend[any alternatves?].

I suspect you can find simular if not identical devices on other VW's. I know my mates Golf mk3 VR6 has one, they are probubly on most other VW turbo/hotter running engines too so a decent VW breaker would likely have afew in the yard.

You can buy a fits all, electric water pump from boy racery / rally accessory type places. I used to see the adverts in the back of Retro Cars magazine, so I'm sure they'll be in the back of other similar magazines. Just take a trip to your local WH Smiths library with a pen and some paper or your mobile phone and take some numbers down-saves buying a magazine. I not tight or owt! Also, I think some Volvo's also had electric water pumps, but I'm not sure which ones.

Thanks for the advice,i'm in spain so smiths is a bit tricky,i will take a look in the local brakers.I've had a look on the net for alternative pumps but they are all very expensive,i fancied a pump with a bit more power, to cool the engine quicker.
