Heres a good un:
Dry warm weather - crap stubborn gear change
Wet miserable weather - smooth easy gear change.
Ideas?

By the way, I'm not looking for some gizmo to achieve this scenario - already got it.

The gear linkage passes through a crossbar. Usually there is a rubber grommet and some grease.
Maybe moisture is taking over the function of the (no longer existing) grease in your case?

Ah! Bet you're right too. Might be a good time to check the entire length for anything amiss. Cheers.

There's a post on the Wiki on how to replace these flanges and bushes ... the parts are cheap and available from JK and VW, the job looks a tad 'interesting'
