vertical climbing

seeing some of the videos posted on you tube it`s pretty obvious our syncro`s are good off road and the climbs and decents are very steep, i`m keen to put mine to the test but i`m concerned with the fact that at those angles you could be getting oil surge from the sump.

are these vans moddified or can a std syncro deal with these types of angles and if so how.
are the sumps baffled specially or owt.

sumps on the petrol engines are standard I havn't had an oil light come on when asc/desc, although I've not gone to extremes with it. The gearbox has a check valve to prevent the front output shaft and bearings from running dry.

does anybody moddify the sumps on the diesels, my mate mods the wet sumps on the rallycars and that works well.

surely oil surge is a worry but i guess nobodys lost an engine as a result of it yet.

would be nice to mod the diesel sump as i build it. its done then and i won`t have to drop it again once its in .
