Hi Guys
Do any of you have your stero wired to the leisure abttery as opposed to the car battery.
What are the advantages / disadvantages?
The wiring for my stero seems to be dead so instead of trying to rewire that I thought why not just re wire it off the leisure battery
thoughts?

Advantages.......Use whe parked up without fear of dead starter battery.
Disadvantages...Won't turn off with ignition but seperate switch can be fitted if desired.

Yep - mine is off the leisure.
Means we can use it when camping without worrying that the main battery will go dead.
Fuse box under drivers seat holds connections to radio / CB / lights etc from leisure battery
Disadvantages...Won't turn off with ignition but seperate switch can be fitted if desired.
mine would play with the ignition off anyway......

you could push the baot out abit and do as i have and fit a 5 way relay the way i have mine wired up is so when the ignition is on the stereo runs off the vehicle battery then when you switch off the ignition it switches over to run from the lesuire battery, that way when your driving the lesuire battery gets more charge rather than have to run the stereo and charge

hi guys me again, I need the socket/adapter thing for a pioneer stereo if I'm going to attempt to do this wiring. Any ideas where I can get one from, the block connector that is.
Not sure of the stereo model

any chance of a wiring diagram for that James, had thought about doing it from a relay but though it might be a complicated job.

This is the best option by far.
I have been meaning to get this done to mine for a while now and it is going to an auto electricians this week to finally get it sorted.
