Pierburg carb - identity parade

Bought an overhaul kit from GSF for my 2E3 carb.

However, apart from no1 on attached which is obvious can't see what the other parts in the kit are for and there is no guidance with the kit!

It may be that parts 2 onwards are not vital but just in case before I put it back.......

Be really grateful for any pointers

Is the carb spluttering sometimes & then clearing itsself?--thats dirt in the float bowl intermmitantly blocking jets, if thats all thats wrong you only need to remove top half of carb, so you will only need the big gasket. leave rest of carb on manifold to avoid disturbing base gasket which aint included in the kit--

You're right - there is only one gasket and its the one between top and lower halves.

Took the whole thing off mainly to give it a clean etc - also suspected auto choke was sticking

Once you have undone the bolts that hold it to the manifold you have "disturbed" the base gasket, as long as it comes off easy then it should be ok.........

There are alot of parts in the kit that fit other versions.. but the worthwile ones are the 2 metal "V" clips and the small paper gaskets... the venturi's are a press fit and the little metal clips and gaskets hold them in place...
the other thing is the accel pump gasket and "idle pump" gskt and diaphragms are not included... these can perforate and give poor running conditions...
