I have just taken out the old shabby hardwood lining from my camper to insulate and would like to replace it with something nicer.

Where can I get vinyl faced hardwood or something similar which isn't bog standard white? preferably not wood effect either.

You could get the board and then cover it with something like this -

There seems quite a range apart from the wood effect etc.

I replaced all the hardboard panels with new hardboard, using the old ones as a template and then sanding the edges, you can then spray it any colour you like with plasticoat or similar and it looks good as new. Did the same with the headlining only using birch ply laquered.

The problem with covering everything in sticky backed vinyl is that it can be a b*gger to get off if you get fed up with it. Previous owner of my Westy Atlantic T3 did a vinyl job on the interior which I absolutely hated and decided to return everything to it's wonderful natural light grey Westfalia interior. I started to remove the vinyl with a hot air gun but it left behind a sticky residue. I've now taken all the interior cupboard doors off and found out the best way to remove it is with boiling water from a kettle and plenty of scraping with a paint scraper...and I've yet to start on the surrounding fixtures! I'd seriously have another think about covering your interior in sticky backed vinyl. Also it might devalue your camper should you ever decide to sell it as any potential buyer might think you were trying to hide something. In my opinion it's as bad as covering your house in stone cladding
