Hi. I want a bigger hole in the roof of my, soon to be, hi top. yes, thanks to all who offered suggestions but I have now got my high top (thanks Blondie) . I just want to know how big I can go with the hole without compromising the strength of the van . Anyone any knowledge on the subject please?

cut the strengthening ribs out of the donor and use them ?

Ermie has the biggest hole I have ever seen.....in essence, the central strengthening bar has been removed, so she is open from cab to locker....

BUT>>>>> I now have the additional weight of a 2" square box steel (well its very hard metal) frame all the way around the hole.....I wouldn't like to guestimate how much that weighs!!!!!! Gives the van the necessary strength though.

Decided to stick to size of donor vehicle and see how it goes, it's easier to take more roof out than put some back in !!! Thanks for advice
