I have had my 1990 villa 3 for 12 yrs. it has never let me down apart from the water pump that gave grief last year.It is dealer serviced every six months and has now clocked up 79000 miles. It is a 2.1 injection.Ihave read that these engines can cause trouble at around this milage,is this true and if so what advise would you give.ps how great to at last find that there are other people out there that love these wonderful waggons.

Hi there!--In your 12 yrs of ownership how often have you changed the coolant?---if you have correctly followed the service schedule & not changed it at all--you may soon get a terminally leaking cylinder head---if you have changed it every 2yrs or so you should be ok--although I believe the late engines suffered less from rusty head studs than the earlier ones--

2.1 head studs rarely suffer corrosion, its the early 1.9's that really suffer from this.....
the heads do however rot, but yours is low mileage so you should be ok for a while yet...

Stop panincing, enjoy ya van......if you are really convinced its about to blow, look out for an reasonable engine on here and bang it in the shed just in case !
