evening

has any one fitted a non vw power steering system to a t25? and is it simple!!!!

I was wondering whether you could get an aftermarket electric system to retro-fit but haven't researched very far yet. There seemd to be a number of Corsa units on ebay but don't know whether these could be made to fit.

I know some people have fitted electric powered pump/reservoir units from other vehicles and connected them to standard T25 power racks. Saves all the front to rear hoses and engine brackets at least.

keeping my eye on this one as my wifes biggest gripe with using the bus as a daily driver is parallel parking the thing...

Its an engine conversion site but there is a thread on there about how a Corsa column has been fitted to a Bay.
I'm going to have a go at this at some point.
There must be money to be made if some engineer produced a kit?

i cannot understand why no aftermarket company has copied the original vw design and started to sell them...they will make a packet!!

will any other vw system work, passat, golf etc?

i have the original sales invoice for my van somewhere, i think power steering was an extra 1200£ but will check ,if this is si why is it a problem paying 6-700 £ for the kit 2nd hand? they are out there its just a case of paying.
