To be honest Terry, probably a single cab, as they are slightly lighter, and less body work to damage.
They are all only as capable as the person who is driving them, so you can have a 2.5TDi or a 1.3 Beetle engine, if the person drives into rather than over some ruts that are too deep they are gonna get stuck whatever...
Also, with a Single cab...where you gonna sleep/cook/read your paper?

2.1 Panel van with a minimalist interior and some windows - just ask Matt!

1.9 crewie, lightweight, squeezes through gaps that vans have trouble with, somewhere to sleep even if it is a tad cramped, somewhere to carry all those spare engines, spragmans and bits for people, a real chick puller for you Terry......

Got to be the caravelle (unbiased)
Can do anything the panel can but with sound-proofing & a panoramic view
Can carry almost anything a 'crewie' can but also keeps it dry.
I rest my case
(p.s. Its my B'day.....lucky Friday 13)
