Many thanks to everyone from on here for their help, we think we have it sorted now, but there is just 1 place a pipe should be that we can't find a pipe for!!
I've circled it in this picture, any help of what should go onto it and from where would be appreciated!!

025 121 130 A from there to the two way plastic pipe thing that joins to the expansion tank, obsolete vw.

Thanks for that, sorry for being stupid but is the expansion tank the one you fill or the other one??!!
Also does that mean I can't get one from my local VW dealership??!!

At least now I can sleep knowing it does go somewhere!!

Expansion tank is on the left when you look from the back??!!
If it is then I can't see a two way plastic pipe??!!
