Air vents and split rubbers

Hi
both the dash air vents near the doors are U/S , how the heck are they removed I would appeciate some help here .On my way back from a couple of days away I cought heavy rain and the gearshift got a lot lighter and smoother , it always pays to get down and dirty , although at my age it`s more difficult to get back up , I first noticed the bellows on the gearbox end of the shifter is split , hence the obvious , I pumped in plenty of oil and the gearchange is now very light and precise also I`d read on 80/90 about water getting into the tank via the filler rubbers around the neck , hey ho I found a split there too . I think I`ll have to order some new rubbers .
