I guess its either a 1.6/1.7 (50/57bhp) non turbo D or a 1.9 petrol DF (60bhp)

either way.... nope no point... it wont go faster without adding power....

read the alternative engine forum and see what you miht want to do... if you cant live with it...

Regardless of gearing, an AAZ should do alot more than that, it must be sick. Although gearing is not ideall the AAZ is the highest revving diesel VW has ever made.

AAZ is the highest revving diesel VW has ever made.

I don't buy that. The AAZ I have runs into the rev limiter at a slower road speed than the 1.7 (KY) I had. Perhaps there are diferent setups or whatever but out of the box the AAZ isn't always going to be higher reving.

Look through the technical bits on brickyard http://www.brick-yard.co.uk/VehicleSpec ... o/menu.htm where you will find a huge table of gearbox info. Yes there probably is a gearbox that will give you more speed.

If you can't find the world beating ratios you want then people like Aiden will be able to advise you on changing the one you have.

There are ways to change the rev limit to give more engine speed but you also have to consider how you are going to stop the engine cooking itse;f if you do. The info on this very site will help you there.

You haven't been given much of an answer here. Find your codes off your engine and gearbox and ask the question again in the engine upgrade forums here, at Brickyard and even at *cough* BusGoofs.com *cough*. Someone will sort you out.

:? Er... what do you mean... thats what I said!!!!!!

Re swapping a box... its not always that simple... you first have to find the box you want thats in good cond.. Aidan can build you what you need.. and its a "good as new" box...
