after going for the world record for the longest engine swap , i got it running today , but.......................

it just wont rev!!! checked everything i can think of , air box/inlet hose , bled pump/injectors , new filter , position of throttle arm etc etc etc . completely flumuxed! when i open throttle fully the revs increase but only just so you notice , kinda fast idle !!!!

with my non mechanic background i am guesssing fuelling , engine was heard running before and was sweet , my van ran sweet(ish) before so i know both were ok.

i have the fuel filter that screws onto stub and has the banjo fitting on top. a bloke i spoke to some time ago had his changed to the type with the two hoses that went onto the 90' fitting. do you think it could be as simple as this ? does my JX filter/filter normally run ok with an AAZ or is it something ive missed ? cheers

Air lock perhaps?

Did you crank it over loads with the fuel solenoid un-attached? Ive been told this is a good way to push lots of fuel into the system before firing up.

Could always take off the injector pipes one by one with the solenoid off also, crank til only fuel comes out. then replace and fire it up?

I had this issue once - what i had done is got the banjos on the fuel injector the wrong way round.

As you know there are two - inlet and outlet - the banjo with the smaller hole goes on the outlet.

I struggled for ages with that one

Tip for bleeding the fuel system - take off the return hose until its bled.

throttle arm in wrong place , have yet to fettle airbox and exhaust but runs real nice already

try bleeding the pump via a manual pump and bleed it through the return at the back of the pump! Your pump is now sitting at a greater angle now and a lot of air will get trapped ther
