Hi, All. Just bought an expansion tank from VW, Didnt notice till i got home, that the top pipe on the tank is only 10mm. It has the same code as on the old one, Do i need to find a bit of hose that tapers down to 10mm, or can anyone help with some advice pleese? Rick..

Must be a superceded part, there will be a new hose that goes with it to convert to older `vans. You should be OK making up a suitable adapter pipe to get from one size to the other, just make sure it can take the heat and pressure Other option is get along to a freindly motor factors and see if you can get a hose off something elses that has the reducer section moulded into it, and maybe able to cut that section as an adapter?

There are 2 different tanks. The upper outlet has a different size bore.

thanks for the advice. would i get away with puting a piece of hose on first, to act like a sleave, then slip the normal size hose over that and tighten on. or is there to much pressure?
