How to replace the ignition switch?

Hi,
I'm planning on replacing the ignition switch on my T25 tonight as its a bit dodgy.

Is this pretty straightforward or do I need to start removing the steering wheel (what size socket do I need for that?) etc before I can pop the new one in?
Cheers

if you mean the barrel assembly into which you put the key, then yep, its a steering wheel off jobby. If you mean all the electric gubbins behind the barrel, I think you can probably replace just by removing all the cowling.

pop the new one in?

ummmm wish mine had just "popped in" - changing our barrel after some toe-rag tried to remove my vehicle invovled spanners, a rubber mallet and £5 ot thereabouts in the 10p a go swear box!! The b****r did not want to come off, and the new one wasn't to thrilled about going on, either! I used a new mount for the barrel, as it involves drilling to get the old barrel out, I believe.

Good luck

im pretty sure the steering wheel, wiper stalks and a couple of bolts need to come out even for the electrical bit. not that difficule but to remove the casting theat holds the barrle and things, you may need a special socket...............cant remember but im sure you do...or you could knock it round with a chisel

Switch just unscrews, once you have the steering lock assembly off.
