Brought my 1st camper luv her to bits (not my 1st air cooled have to state!) anyway driven about 230 miles over weekend but towards sunday didnt like starting to much, i got told the aclerater cable could be bit on way out ( cable tie's on it as little movement) anyway she isn't turning over to well stinks of petrol n the pedal keeps sticking down but only when we first start her once started n running she is fine>?

Live in staffordshire area i have tried to look under her but still getting over shoulder op its bit hard the cable doesnt seem over loose hasnt broke thats for sure, (have a spare cable here) but not sure why pedal hits floor) i'm not pissed of as i understand this is going ot be the way of life forever just can't drive her myself to get her fixed so thought id ask about!

hope ur all well x

Starting and the pedal problem seem to be different.. shouldn't need accelr ped to start when hot, which sound slike it was.

Various probs can develop around the acc pedal, and cable. @orrible area to access, but can be done. Check the link bar is fully located in pedal and in slot in the crank under floor. Should be able to adjust a ferrule fitted to cable under floor to take out slack.

If 2.1 DJ or MV, sounds like might be flooding due to dodgy Temp T2 sender or wiring of same...

What is engine??? Must give model and engine when posting in Tech

Appears to be an air cooled camper so 2.0l CU OR 1.6l CT.

Isn't hot starting on an air cooled: accelerator pedal to the floor & turn key, then release pedal when engine starts? (In fact water cooled is the same hot starting procedure).

See if the pedel hinge on the floor is not sticking or fowled up with dirt.Throttle cable and linkage to carbs could be sticking.
