My 2lt cu Aircooled fuel pump is not pumping fuel . I removed it and stripped it down and it was working fine and held pressure however when I put it back on it isnt pumping anything . There is nothing happening with it . Have pulled it appart and the main diaphram is working well when the engine turns over. Im at a loss have removed the fuel filter and yes I have fuel in the tank . I can blow down the fuel pipe and hear it bubbling in the tank.
I am now at a total loss any suggestions ??????? I was thinking of fitting an electric pump from just kampers but they list them for a type 2 will this be ok ?
Any help would be apprecited

The Pierburg mechanical fuel pump in the JK catalogue fits the 1.9DG W/C engine & the 1.6CT A/C engine but not the 2.0CU A/C engine.
I can only suggest the you try VW Heritage who may be able to source you a secondhand mechanical fuel pump.

Fit the electric one...
mech pumps can fail in that they will deliver when off the vehicle by hand, but at "speed" on the engine it wont...
Dont think new ones are available any more.. so electric is the way to go..

Havnt done this but I would take out pushrod and replace pump. No mechanics happening then and pump can act as a blanking plate for hole.

The fuel pump will be manufactured by Pierburg the OEM. I got mine at GSF for £32.50 + VAT. JK charge around £45.00 for the same pump.
Unfortunately this doesn't help the owners of T25s with the 2.0l CU engine.
