Well,

I know there are a lot of topics talking about fridges, so my question is what is the normal temperatures on a normal Westy fridge on its three different ways? I mean gas, 12V and 220V

I connected this afternoon the fridge to 220V and after 3 hours temp on fridge was around 5-7ºC and on freezer was -15ºC...

On gas? on 12V?

On an Electrolux 3 way only the 220/240v is really thermostatically controlled, from memory the 12v basically just gets as cold as it can ... resulting in frozen everything after a 5 hour trip and the gas keeps it about 10 degrees below ambient.

Can't comment about Der Uber fridges though

I forgot to say my fridge is Electrolux RM2210...

It has any importance the place where you stop to let the fridge works? I mean ramps or so, it has to be the van parked on a plane surface to work better?

on gas your fridge needs to be as level as possible.so buy yourself some chocks....http://shop.justkampers.com/product_inf ... s_id/10232

The fridge must be as near level as possible for all modes of opperation - part of the system opperates by gravity.

If everything is in good condition gas and 220v performance should be similar.

12 v performace is a lottery - sometimes (too?) good , others , useless !

Actual performance ? Electrolux used to quote a maximum temp drop of 30 degrees below ambient (i.e. outside temp over 30 deg , no ice in ice box), now they quote 36 degrees.

This however is assuming a good installation with correct size & location of vents. If the heat cannot get away from behind the fridge it will not work efficiently.

As Rob says, needs to be level - normally '+' or '-' 3 degrees.

Bladdy hell that's a tight tolerance. I know the missus rolls her eyes at me trying to get the van as level as poss but even I couldn't achieve that

I was trying today with the electrical switch on gas, was making click click click click for a long time almost a minute but no flame. I was parked in a ramp so maybe that was the problem...

I assume you were pushing the round button in... cus it lets gas flow so the click click click can light it while thermocouple (sp) warms up. Takes about 30 seconds to warm up.

I did it in 3 different positions, in fact when I was driving last year from Southampton to Holyhead I used the gas several times to cook but never realised about the ramps/degrees where I was parked...

And the gas can is not empty!

I didn't think a normal Westy has a freezer compartment?

I imagine that anywhere in the Canary Islands is a challenging place to park for fridge operation!

I didn't think a normal Westy has a freezer compartment?

Mine is RM2210...

the van does not need to be level to cook.only for the fridge..

I used the gas several times to cook but never realised about the ramps/degrees where I was parked...
