hi, i've got a t25 1.9 watercooled with a 45amp bosch alternator, question is does the one at justcampers fit all the bosch alternators (looks different to mine but looks like it'll fit) or should I go with the one on ebay which looks like mine (correct oem no.1197311005) but it says 28mm slip ring? btw only £8.95 (justcampers £21.50)

also has anyone soldered the brushes in as it looks like thats the prob, maybe just swap them over from a new regulator into mine or is that a bad idea, any advice please

heres a pic of mine - http://hidebehind.com/4B3060?f

You can re-solder new brushes in, just have to ensure they are the same size and not to allow solder to creep along the braided wire as you solder it.

thought it was to good to be true, put the new one in, no charge AND now the battery light is on (with the engine ticking over) previously not.

put the old one back in still the light is on and it def wasn't before?

oh well, founds a place that'll test the alternator before i fork out for a new one :|
