Hi new kid on the block here

Should getting my T25 hi-top soon but I have a really silly question. How on earth do get up into the upper bed area. Do you throw your kids in there like a shot putter, take a running leap ? & how do you stop them falling out & denting van floor in middle of night?, is there such a thing as a ladder that VW did

Some have ladders although i don,t bother with one.
There is a lot of room up there when the bed is fully pulled out so there is not much chance of them falling off.
My two kids sleep with thier heads towards the back and their feet are nowhere near the edge.
As for getting up my two climb on to the side work surface to get in to the high top.

Our roof bed ^^ pulls out, locates and then the front piece acts as a headboard. The girls (12 & 8 ) put one foot on the toilet box,one foot on the side and up they go. Head towards the front of the van,level with the roof windows so they can peep at those who stay up late

thanks for advice so far. No too sue if my 4 year old is gonna like doing any climbing. Suppose I could use big length of rubber and catapult him up there !
Did see a web page that sells ladders & safety netting for this purpose but can't find it again. I think the van I am getting is a leisure drive interior style so not sure if the upper berth has anything to pull out. Open to corrections if wrong about this.

leisure drive hi tops have a pull out bed that is 6ft long and full width of the roof, they also came with a ladder ( but most are thrown away coz you dont need them)

but if he's 4 you wont need to pull the bed out anyway..........

Just what I was thinking, our bed's 6' x 4' pulled out and 4'6" x 4' when put away .... how big's a 4 year old these days ?

I am toying with the idea of sticking the kids in the rock'n'roll bed & me & the OH go upstairs ! Makes it easy when kids wake up in night for loo run. Won't have to duck falling children from above.

No drinks for 1/2 an hour before bed and toilet last job

They (like us) get into the camping routine, same as at home but with different views out of the window ..... and no telly

I use an Emergency Escape ladder, metal version of a rope ladder.

Dunno where to get them from though. Mine was given to me.

Also iam 6'4'' and they are under 5 so I just chuck em up there.

My wife was worried about them falling down but they are that tired after a days camping, they are too tired for any of that malarky.

thanks peeps. OH is scared of heights so refuses to go up there anyway.
