Right I have a big custom idea, I want to put seamless glass on the rear 2 pannels, as per modern type 5's. I'm just wondering if anyone knows of any custom glass manufactures for doing this? cheers, Jack

Pilkingtons are a big automotive producer of glass, and they will tackle one offs and small production runs, but it costs. When I wanted a one off for a weird vehicle I went through my local windscreen man, who spoke to the wholesaler, who spoke to Pilkingtons, found it easier that way as you can tell somebody what you want, and they go off and do the hard work setting it up
Other then that if the glass you want is totally flat and an easy shaper, it might be better try a general "glass" supplier such as
http://www.glass-specialists.co.uk ? Most will want a template or a pattern though.

Does it not have to be automotive glass, ie the XXX stuff?
Bonded Glass

I was lookind at this for my van. I contacted loads of van window specialists but none supply bonded T3 windows.
I spoke to a plant glass fitter who cuts flat lam for all sorts of machines and he came and had a look.
There is no problem in cutting the shapes, but when you look closesly and use a straight edge, despite looking slab sided the van sides have a slight curve in them.
Although there is slight flex in laminate, we decided not enough to bond the glass flush, there was also the problem of holding it till it bonded and then no way of knowing if any flex in the van would cause it to shatter.
The other option was to pack the gap out with sealant and finish the edges with some sort of trim.
Its still in the too hard to do pile at the mo!
I've mocked up a picture and think the look suits the van (looks hard as nails!), don't think I can post pics here, but i'll send it to someone who can, if you pm an email.
Mike.

I doubt it on side windows no, plus most glass specialists will make laminated in any case.
Looks like Mike has come up with a few other problems though

You could always tint the windows and then have the area around the windows sprayed black to get the same effect.
