It is supposed to be an electrical regulator or so, right?

Hi all,

Next to the fridge, in the right side, I've found this thing, it has two wires, a red and a black one, I think they came from the second battery installed under the co-driver's seat. It has also a "potentiometer" You can set it on 0.5, 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0 positions... It has a fuse and 250D wrote on it. Next to that fuse it has a switch "ein" "aus"...

I was thinking that thing is to charge the batteries while the van is connected to 220V/240Volts... but the potentiometer makes me

Could be?

Some pics of it here:

Is it wired to that fan that`s in the foto? If so, looks like someone has added it to cool the fridge heat exchanger

No it' not wired to the fan, the fan has a switch outside the furniture so I can switch on or off... The wires are coming from the second battery...
Never connected the van to a 220/240V supply so that is why I ask...

Is that a 240v mains cable going into the back of the box?
If it is, I suspect home made charger !

Well,

I've connected the van to 220V... that thing makes a bzzzzzzzzz so I imagine it is a battery charger, I have changed the positions... 0.5, 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0 but the reading on the tester (connected on the 2nd battery, inside) says 12,62V. If I select on the left side switch "ein" the thing makes the bzzzzzzzzzz but on "aus" it says nothing...

"aus" translates as "out", "ein" doesn`t translate as anything :? Maybe it`s not German, perhaps it means "on" and "off" in some other language?

Whatever, if it works in one position and not in the other, then that`s good enough. The battery voltage should jump up as soon as you switch it to charge, if it doesn`t then it`s not working, check for any fuses etc, also could have a split-charge system that also charges the main batt when hooked up (Westys do this)
