I have a hissing coming from the engine somewhere?? tried to find out where from but with no mechanical knowledge this has proved difficult! Can't hear it while driving, only notice when its ticking over and there doesn't seem to be any loss of power!
Any ideas??

Recently had a new exhaust pipe but pretty sure its nothing to do with that, someone had suggested the turbo leaking! don't like the sound of that!

My van is a 1.6TDi

prob something to do with the new pipe or something thats been disturbed.. could be a split or hose on the pressure side of the turbo that has come adrift.. wont be the turbo itself unless something major has broke and it would prob be a lot worse than a hiss if it was...
By the way, it isnt a TDi (direct injection) if a 1.6, just a plain TD (Indirect injection)
