engine reassemble going well until i broke a piston ring!
do i have to get a complete set now, bearing in mind i was using the original ones? if so, where from? and what else do i need to know(i.e. running in etc...)

Probably need the full set.They are about 25-30 quid.
GFS, Euro car parts, JK etc.
You will need to deglaze your cylinder bores to help the new rings bed in.
