Can anyone advise me on where to get a JX turbo refurbed and the likely cost?
Cheers.

About £300 to £400... £just under £400 is norm top quality company with guarantee
Some might be cheaper, maybe with less of a warranty, poss £250
How bad is it? Garret or KKK?
Will try to dig a few addresses out..

Thanks Harry.
I don't know exactly how bad, I've not looked at it myself, but my mate said 'Its fooked'
I imagine its impeller/compresser damage at the very least.

What are the choices of turbo fitted to the JX?
Anyone?

KKK K14
Garrett T2
Very few Garretts about, think might have been early ones, or randomly dotted amongst production, but I like them mots, seem mechanically a bit stronger

Thanks Harry (once again), do you know if the K14 or T2 came fitted on other vehicles?
So if I bought one that came from a 205 for instance, could I fit it to my JX?

No, the CHRA (middle bit, bearings and shafts) would be substantially the same, but the turbine and compressor howuings as well as the wheels would be different...
The manifold bolt configuration is 'per vehicle model' but also the Aspect Ratios of the wheels and housings (the gas flow and pressure ratios it's designed for) is also different. So a K14, covers a range of exhaust and inlet airflows, and a K24, larger, another range. Within that, there is a spread of housings that can be used fro each one.
But the main thing is that externally they won't bolt up or plumb up to all yor engine's dangly bits.
The K14 and the T2 seem to be just a shade on the small side exhaust wise, so they spin up and boost well early on but produce higher than ideal back pressure and EGT when cruising, esp. if you try to overboost them much. They will produce 12-14 psi with a wastegate bleed (7.5 std) but then heavily choke the exhaust flow...

Thanks Harry.
I guess I'm still after a JX turbo then...

Or I might just stick a 1.9TD in it.
Its gonna cost about as much to fix as it would to carry out the swap, then sell on the JX.(which is sound by the way)
