My slider handle needs a new lock cylinder in it, but looking at the parts thingy theres 2 types (for a left hand door) depending on if they have a safety lock (childlock?) or not. My door's a Caravelle type and does have child locks (which I don't care about) though all that seems to do is prevent the inner handle moving to the open position and not affect the outer handle at all; there must be some resion why VW bothered to make 2 types though?

What I want to know is, are these two types of handle (or more importantly cylinder) interchangerble?
