Louvers or plastic vents?

Hi everybody,

A little advice and dare I ask opinions please, abs the bus is slowly taking shape, new floor, and windscreen pillar in we are thinking about the offside middle panel.

This is where the fridge vents go.

I've a nice newish fridge and the two sets of vents (top one with a combined flue).

The question is.

Should we disregard the horrible plastic things and get Louvers cut into some steel and weld them in - yes probs with distortion when welding and the big prob being water ingress from when driving in the rain.

Or just paint the plastic ones either body colour or black. The bus is likely to be dark blue or green.

And advice or opinions re the louvers would be most appreciated.

Cheers

Si

My van has only one vent and combined flue and we find it adequate.

the other vent is under floor.

Paint the plastic ones. You can get a spray called etching primer, eats into the plastic slightly to give good adhesion and then just spray desired colour on top. Hey presto, done! :D

Keep with the plastic ones, you can always remove them for easy access if required...you can't if you weld steel ones on.
