I need a hack for a few months while I am working down in Swansea so I figured I would try and get a VW with a 1.9TDI so when I am finished with it I can stick the engine in my Syncro. I am going the mechanical pump route rather than electronic. What I need to know is what cars and which years do I look for?

I know the engine codes are 1Z, AHU and AFN? What cars through what time period have them?

Look for a Seat Toledo.

golf,vento,passat, audi 80,some audi a4(?) seat toledo--- 1Z

audi a4,other stuff with "red eye" badge(110hp)-----AFN

AHU same as 1Z so not sure.

1Z cant be maped
AHU can
Early 1Z from Audi didnt have coded key.
AFN has differences in the block to the other 2.
