Komet Cooker Glass

Hi
See the wanted post for drama leading to breakage.
No markings on cooker or in documentation we have to identify.
Nothing I can find in wiki. (apart from autohomes warning to not store heavy items in the upper cupboards, I am now warned  and know the catches to be made from DC10 engine adhesive)
Does anyone know the model of the cooker/range unit or where to get spares?
Failing that can I use Georgian wired glass (though I don't know if you can polish the edges with the wires inset) or a sheet of toughened glass? Is the black patternation on the original for heat protection/dispersal or just pretty?
Thanks

I presume you have an Autohomes Komet ?, if so try these guys,

They took over the old Autohomes building and stock, they might be able to help,

Sort of update but still in the dark.
Thanks Big Tam, the unit is by Spinflo, but the company in Dorset don't know the model or carry spares.
If this doesn't get fixed I will cook on a open fire, set the field alight and it will all be club 80-90's fault. Please help or this will be on your conscience forever :)

If you can get one made up i would go for toughend glass should work ok, or failing that ask the glass shop people what they suggest???

Oh justa thought get a glass top of a domestic cooker and have it cut down to size ???
