I'm thinking of breaking hte bank and getting a pop top finally.

I was wondering if there is any storage space in either Devon or Westie roofs when the roof is down??? For example, could I fit my awning up there???

Louey.
I would say no to your awning question (for a Westy pop top). All i keep in mine is the thermal window screens as they lie very flat.

Not a hightop fan Ian - had enough problems in the lakes with high restrictions with the roof box on

Louey...I went out and had a quick look at mine....I have the bed base on which there is the bed foam (2-3") there is another couple of inches spare, whcih has currently got some wood stored up there for making the units inside....

so, unless it is thin and flat...not really. I have laid out quilts, sleeping bags etc for travelling - that gets them out of the boot space!

Same here, i have a full length poptop but apart from silverscreens there isn't room for anything else as the roof pulls down flat onto the top of the mattress.

Hi,our pop top is the rigid sided type and because it's not quite full length theres a luggage space above the cab (all be it outside, obviously) but it's dead handy,we use it for our folding chairs but i know our awning would fit up there if needs be.Just need to put the stuff in one of those waterproof stuff sacks.
Maybe worth a thought.

i built the missus a lil ole box trailer to tow behind out holdsworth pop top for all the crap duck, not very big and it doubles as a wardrobe/suitcase store/shoe cupboard and aerial mount when shes on site......that was our only solution with two teenagers in tow............regards

Don't think you would get a pop top like ours anymore but, there is quite a bit of room up there when it is folded down. We keep the top bed mattreses, sleeping bag, pillow, blanket and windbreak up there. It is a bit of a bind when you have to remove things to lift the roof but it's better than tenting

i'm suprised mr hulley! that's awefully rough! i meant the tool for bending the tabs up on the tin top that you rivet the fibreglass too! i've got all the measurements somwhere! oh and make sure you get a lazy tongs riviter cos a pop rivet gun will break your wrists by the time you have done 500!!
