Hi, purchased my first T25 Camper the other week a 1985 Hi Top
Have used it the bank holiday for the first tiime. All went well.
The gearbox is very hard to get into 3rd gear from 2nd. It is easier to go from 2nd to 4th and then back to 3rd.
Is this normal, could this be gearbox oil / linkage issue?

Sounds similar to mine except i have trouble getting into 1st, but by pushing the lever back into second before going to first the problem can be bypassed.
According to the previous owner (I have only had the van a week) the problem is to do with the linkage under the van - apparently it should be packed with grease but over time the grease gets pushed out and causes the 'sticking'.
So if you can locate the linkage and grease it the problem should be sorted!

Some spray grease into the rubber boot thingy at the gear box end of the linkage stopped out bus from sticking in 2nd.
Must do it again!
Shouldn't this be in Technical?
Hope you sort it out.

It could very possible be a linkage issue. Clean, check for wear (replace worn pieces) and lubricate all linkage and see if it helps.
Here's a link to a bunch of things on manual gearboxes:

Hope that helps.
