mot check list?(need to get it through for vf)

what things should i check before i send bertha for her mot need to make sure she passes for vanfest fitting new exhaust gaskets at weekend and repairing front seat belt mount.
any comman fails that i should look for cheers guys
any ideas for a cheap timing light wana set up the timing on van 2

www.directgov.co.uk & search for what you want or Google. ''M.O.T. Test - Testable Items''. The list shown gives a brief outline of each item to be tested.
Somewhere on the VOSA website is a comprhensive printable list of testable items, possibly aimed at M.O.T. Testers.
