Rattling gear knob when under load - anyone got one ?

My gear know has always made a horrible rattling noise - normally when doing around 60 - but i can stop it by resting my knee against it.

Anyway, recently this has gotten worse - the gear stick vibrates like hell - and when under load gets worse.

Anyone had any experience of this ? I did think that perhaps a new gear knob would remedy this - but now im thinking more sinister thoughts....

Appreciate any tips...

Ringo

Try a new gear knob, get one of those grub screw jobbies from any motor factors and see if it cures it.. If not you've not spent too much money and you'll have a swish gear knob too.. Halfrauds do quite a few cheap ones in leather or wood if thats what your into..

or check and grease your gearbox linkages and bushes....

the only way a new knob is gonna help is if its a lot heavier... ooer missus

Cool. Basically, i need to get under the van and check the linkages and bushes.

Sounds like a winner to me - will have a look under the van..

Thanks guys
